Position Overview

We're looking for a hands-on Business Central Developer Consultant to join a small IT team on a contract basis. You'll own ERP upgrade and extension alignment, keep the Business Central to Dynamics 365 CRM integration running, and help work through a backlog of enhancements, stakeholder requests, and day-to-day support items. This is a remote role for a proactive self-starter who can plug into a small team quickly and contribute without heavy oversight.

Contract: 8 weeks initially, with strong potential to extend. At least 20 hours per week. Remote, open to U.S. citizens residing in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Own the Business Central upgrade cadence and AL extension development and alignment, keeping customizations current with Microsoft releases
• Maintain the SmartConnect integration between Business Central and Dynamics 365 CRM, including API and field-mapping work
• Support finance and accounting functionality and enhancement requests within Business Central
• Write and update Business Central query (AL) code, including code that feeds downstream reporting datasets
• Resolve Business Central operational items and support ongoing platform maintenance
• Support reporting requirements and, where Power BI skills are available, help maintain and enhance existing dashboards
• Join stakeholder meetings, gather requirements, and balance system improvements with urgent troubleshooting

Qualifications

• Strong Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central experience, including hands-on upgrades and AL extension development and alignment across version upgrades
• Experience integrating Business Central with Dynamics 365 CRM, including API and field mapping
• Finance and accounting functional knowledge, with the ability to support processes and enhancement requests within Business Central
• Ability to write and update Business Central query code that feeds reporting datasets
• Experience with application enhancements, support, and troubleshooting
• SmartConnect experience is a big plus, as is experience with similar third-party integration platforms
• Power BI report and dataset development (DAX, Power Query) is a strong plus but not required
• A proactive self-starter who asks questions, brings ideas, and is willing to push back constructively with a better solution
• Comfortable in a small team where priorities shift and everyone wears multiple hats
• Must be a U.S. citizen and reside in the U.S.
