Position Overview

A federal human capital program is building a position classification team, and we are looking for HR Specialists with classification experience. This is a fully remote role, open to candidates anywhere in the United States.

You would classify positions across a headquarters level organization, writing and evaluating position descriptions and advising managers on position management.

Responsibilities

• Write, review, and classify position descriptions across a range of occupational series
• Apply OPM classification standards and document the reasoning
• Prepare evaluation statements supporting classification decisions
• Conduct desk audits and position reviews
• Advise managers on position management and organizational structure
• Make FLSA determinations

Qualifications

• 4 to 10 years of federal position classification experience
• Hands on application of OPM classification standards
• Position description writing and evaluation statements
• Comfort working across General Schedule series
• Must hold a public trust or be able to obtain one

Degree requirements are flexible. Depth of classification experience matters more than the credential.

This position is fully remote. Candidates may be located anywhere in the United States.
